Two boys have died in two separate road accidents after being hit by cars in Kasungu district.
Deputy Public Relations Officer for Kasungu police, Harry Namwaza identified the deceased as Pilirani Phiri, 9, and Alick Shaba, 6, all from the district.
“Both died due to severe head injuries,” he said.
“Investigations into the actual causes of the two accidents are underway.”
Namwaza said Pilirani hailed from Mpani village in Traditional Authority Simndemba while Alick hailed from John Ndawa village, Traditional Authority Mnyanja.
Police are advising motorists and pedestrians to exercise caution and adhere to all road traffic rules when using the road.
Namwaza further advised parents not to let young children play near busy roads alone.
