Eye of the Child, a local non-governmental organization has partnered with Love Justice International with the aim of combating human trafficking in the country.
Speaking to YFM, Head of Transit Monitoring and Interception for Eye of the Child, Zipporah Jede said: “This partnership is going to help government reduce costs which it uses to repatriate victims of human trafficking across the borders.”
“This partnership is focusing on identifying and assisting potential victims of trafficking while they are being transported and before they reach the destination where they may be in danger of being exploited,” Said Zipporah.
She further said the initiative is being done in various bus depots, airports and road blocks to help find the victims in the country.
Human trafficking involves recruitment, harbouring or transporting people into a situation of exploitation through the use of violence, deception or coercion and forced to work against their will.
