Government has called upon the private sector to invest in initiatives that can enhance access to Youth Friendly Health Services in the country.
Minister of Health and Population, Atupele Muluzi made the call in Lilongwe during a breakfast meeting at the Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC), organised by Health Policy Plus.
Muluzi said there is need for collaboration between government and the private sector to address challenges that the youth are currently facing when accessing friendly health services.
“Issues affecting young people are multi sectoral and from a health prospective we have a youth friendly health services strategy that was developed in 2016 and runs up to 2022 that also looks at multi sectoral collaboration,” he said.
In his remarks Director of health at USAID_Malawi, Peter Helpert concurred with Muluzi and pledged continuous support to the ministry.
