United Transformation Movement (UTM) has shifted the date and venue of its launch in the southern region from Saturday to Sunday.
Spokesperson for UTM, Josephy Chidanti Malunga, said the venue has been moved from Nyambadwe ground to Njamba Freedom Park.
“I can confirm to you that we have changed the dates and venue of our launch from Saturday to Sunday and from Nyambadwe ground to Njamba Freedom Park,” Malunga told YFM in a telephone interview.
He said the launch has been shifted to pave way for the re-opening of Kamuzu Stadium on July 28, 2018.
“We had reports indicating of the launch of Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre and since most our supporters are also football lovers we thought we can let them be with us on the next day.”
Kamuzu Stadium will be re-opened after two years of maintenance.
Malunga urged UTM supporters to flock to Njamba Park and witness the launch of the movement on Sunday.
Vice president Saulos Chilima’s United Transformation Movement is expected to be launched in the northern region in August.
