Malawi Girl Guides Association (MAGGA) says there has been tremendous progress in the fight against alcohol and drug abuse amongst girls in the country.
MAGGA Coordinator for Lilongwe district, Madalitso Maonga said: “Girls have been equipped with knowledge through various MAGGA clubs in the country in order to mentor them on the dangers of drug abuse.”
“We have given them skills which can help them to shun from various peer influences,” Maonga told YFM.
He said that they are also targeting parents since they are also the ones who can help in behaviour change among girls in the country.
“Parents must be role models to their children’s in the communities,” he said.
