Youths in Zomba have been urged to utilize the technological opportunities so that they can assist in the development of the country.
Speaking after presiding over the opening of the telecentre in Zomba Central Constituency, Minister of Information and Communications Technology Nicholas Dausi, said youths are supposed to be relevant with technological issues hence government offering them such opportunities.
“Youths in this country are supposed to be able to access ICT services, and as the government we believe this will help them as they will be able to access information in all sectors and across the globe.”
He further said this will help then youth in advancement of E-learning hence reducing the number of illiterate people in Zomba district.
Director General for MACRA Godfrey Itaye, said Macra as the policy implementer they are doing all their best to connect all the constituencies in the country.
“In terms of management and monitoring we will only help them to look after the telecentre for the next 12 months and later we will ask the District Commissioners office to takeover,” Itaye said.
He therefore asked the constituents to take full responsibility of the structure and all the assets available at the center.
Member of Parliament for Zomba Central Constituency Patricia Kainga Nangozo, said she was grateful that her constituency has been granted chance to have the telecentre which will help her area to develop as they will be able to explore a lot of things.
