The draw for the next year’s Netball World Cup in Liverpool, England saw the Malawi Netball National Team, being placed in group B along with New Zealand, Barbados and Singapore.
New Zealand, who were the runners-up to Australia in 2015, will be the toughest opponent to the She-Flames as they will be looking for a revenge following their shock defeat to Malawi at the Commonwealth Games in April.
In other groups, Commonwealth Games champions and hosts England will take on Scotland in group D which also encompasses Uganda and Samoa.
Defending champions and the top seeds, Australia, will be seeking a 12th title, after being drawn against Northern Ireland, Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka in Group A.
Group C features Commonwealth Games bronze medalists Jamaica, South Africa, Trinidad and Tobago and Fiji.
New Zealand’s clash with Malawi and Barbados versus Singapore will be the opening two matches as organizers confirmed the schedule for the event after the draw.
The 2019 Netball World Cup will be the fifteenth staging of the premier competition in international netball, contested every four years.
The tournament will be held from 12–21 July 2019 at the Echo Arena in Liverpool, England.
