The Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Water Development has said it will roll out distribution of coupons for Farm Input Subsidy Programme (FISP) on October 8, 2018.
The ministry’s spokesperson, Osborn Tsoka disclosed to YFM that currently, the ministry is working on identification of beneficiaries and training of service providers.
“Currently we are in the final stage of identifying the beneficiaries and working on sensitization programs as we are training the service providers before they start implementing the distributions.”
Tsoka said currently the suppliers of inputs under the programme are ready with stokes.
“What is remaining is distributing the coupons and other programs will start immediately,” Tsoka added.
Farm Input Subsidy Programme is expected to reach out to 1 million families in the 2018/2019 agriculture season.
