Football Association of Malawi (FAM) says all is set for the semi-final matches of the 2018 Carlsberg trophy slated for the weekend of October 6 and 7.
On Saturday, the defending champions Nyasa Big Bullets will be at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe against Masters Security.
And the following day, soccer fans in Blantyre will flock to Kamuzu Stadium for an encounter between the unpredictable premier league side, Hangover FC and Mighty Be Forward Wanderers.
If Hangover sails through, it will become the second non super league team to reach the final stage after Karonga United in 2014.
FAM Media and Competitions Manager, Gomezgani Zakazaka, said all the needed measures have been put in place to ensure successful semi-final matches.
Zakazaka said: “All preparations surrounding semi-final events are at an advanced stage including security measures, officiation and venues, and dressing all the four teams with Carlsberg brand uniforms.”
He further said the competition has been run without serious challenges since it began and there is no doubt of experiencing the same good ending.
Since the beginning of the competition this year, 28 games have been played.
16 games were played in the round of 32, 8 games were played in the round of 16 and 4 in the quarter final stage.
The final match will take place on October 20 at a venue to be announced by FAM.
Nyasa Big Bullets are the current holders of the cup.
