The Roads Authority (RA) has appealed to all road users to adhere to road safety regulations to reduce preventable road accidents in the country.
RA Public Relations Officer, Portia Kajanga, told YFM Online that recent reports are indicating that many accidents in the country are as a result of reckless driving.
Meanwhile the Roads Authority is working with the local councils in the country to report the new black spots in places like markets and schools.
“We do identify black spots whenever we are constructing roads, ” Kajanga said while adding: “When new structures have been built like schools and makes it is the responsibility of the local councils to report to us.”
Kajanga added that upon receiving the reports the authority constructs preventive road signs such as zebra-cross, rumble surface and humps.
“We construct the zebra-cross, rumble surface and humps to calm the vehicles at the black spot,” she said.
