The battle for supremacy in the Chitetetezo Mbaula Southern Region Football Association (SRFA) Premier Division League has taken a new twist following the results over the weekend that saw Nyasa Big Bullets Reserve FC climbing to top of the league replacing Ntopwa FC.
Over the weekend Bullets Reserve collected a maximum of six points following their two convincing victories on Saturday and Sunday.
On Sunday the junior People’s team massacred Naming’omba by 7-1 at Kamuzu stadium after coming from a 2-0 win against Polytechnic the previous day at the intellectual’s home ground.
Bullets Reserve has 88 points from 38 games, 2 points ahead of their contenders Ntopwa FC who have played the same number of games.
Hangover FC is on third position with 82 points from 38 games, Cobbe Barracks on fourth with 82 points from 39 games, and Mangochi United on position five with 77 points from 38 games.
Chitetezo Mbaula is the only league which is yet to produce the super league representative.
Northern region has already seen Chitipa United graduating into the elite league while Mlatho Mponela will represent the central region.
Chitetezo Mbaula league’s delay to wind up has been attributed to among other things, the late kick off due to the delay by sponsors to release prizes for the 2018 season.
