The Malawi Under 23 national football team which is in Belgium, will have an opportunity to watch a live UEFA Europa League match between KRC Genk from Belgium versus Slavia Prague from Czech Republic on Thursday.
The game which kicks of tonight, is scheduled in north-eastern Belgium to decide which of the two clubs, who are both leading their domestic leagues, will progress through to the UEFA Europa League round of 16.
On Wednesday the junior Flames failed to play their second game against PSV due to logistical arrangements on the part of the host team.
But On Tuesday the Junior Flames lost their first assignment against the top Belgium league outfit STTV Club by 3-1 in which the consolation goal was scored by Juma Yatina who plays for Masters Security.
The team left the country on February 16 for Belgium where coach for the Senior national team, Ronny Van Geneugden, who is also a Belgian national, secured 7 friendly matches for the team, in readiness for 2019 African Cup of Nations Under 23 qualifier against Zambia next month.
Malawi will play their next game on Monday next week against OHL before facing GENK and RODA JC in succession.
The team is expected to leave for Egypt on March 3 for a friendly against the Pharaohs on March 8.
Malawi returns home on March 9 ahead of back-to-back matches against Zambia on March 20 at Kamuzu Stadium and away in Lusaka six days later.
