All is set for a Sulom 2019 Elective Annual General Meeting (AGM) to be held on Saturday, March 2 at Kabumba Hotel in Salima district.
48 delegates from different clubs are expected to vote for the new office bearers during the AGM.
The current Sulom treasurer, Tiya Somba Banda, is likely to secure the position of president, unopposed, replacing the incumbent Innocent Botomani, after he (Banda) was nominated for the position by all the 16 teams ahead of the AGM.
But the position of the vice presidency will be up for grabs among Major Gilbert Mittawa, Aggrey Khonje and Albert Mtungambera Harawa.
Another position to go unopposed is that of General Secretary which is going to be reclaimed by the current holder, Williams Banda.
But four people namely, Major Thoko Chazema, Aggrey Bondo Khonje, Zechariah Nyaleza Nyirenda and Muhammad Selemani are expected to vie for the seat of vice general Secretary.
Malinda Chinyama and Ernest Mangani are only names to compete for the position of treasure after Chifundo Makande pulled out of the race and vowed to rally behind Chinyama.
The Legal Advisor position race is between Muhammad Selemani and David Kanyenda following withdraw of Chimwemwe Chithope.
People vying for the Executive Members positions are Charles Manyungwa, Henzie Banda, Micheal Chemaere, Allie Mwachande, Chimwemwe Nyirenda and Titha Mandiza.
As per Sulom Constitutional requirement, every candidate (nominee) has paid a nonrefundable registration fee of K100, 000 for all the positions from president to Legal Advisor and K50,000 for the executive member.
