The main opposition Malawi Congress Party (MCP) has shifted to March 9, 2019 the date for its manifesto launch.
The party was initially set to launch the manifesto on March 8, 2019 at Bingu International Convention Center (BICC) in Lilongwe.
In a statement made available to YFM, the party said the decision intends to accommodate the presentation of the mid- year budget statement in the National Assembly on that particular day.
“Bearing in mind that the budget statement is as important as a national event, the party has shifted the day to Saturday, 9th March this year and the event is will be held at crossroads hotel in Lilongwe,” the statement reads.
MCP further said it has taken the move to accord the presentation of the budget the dignity it deserves.
Malawi Congress Party will be the second party to launch its manifesto after Umodzi Party (UP).
