Malawi will roll out the mass national registration campaign of children under the age of 16, the National Registration Bureau (NRB) has said.
This follows the remarkable progress in the pilot phase in the districts of Ntcheu and Balaka.
NRB Public Relations Officer Norman Fulatira told YFM on Wednesday that the bureau has registered more than 160,000 children in the two districts.
“In Ntcheu we targeted to register approximate number of 300,000 and Balaka we targeted 200,000 children so reaching this far we have managed to register more than 160,000 children,” he said.
Fulatira said the bureau will announce the dates for the commencement of the exercise.
“We shall communicate in due course as to when the exercise will commerce and the target number of children,” he said.
