All the four presidential candidates have confirmed their participation in the second Malawi Presidential Debate on April 2, 2019 at the Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe.
The four are Dr. Cassim Chilumpha of Tikonze People’s Movement (TPM), Professor John Chisi of Umodzi Party (UP), independent candidate, Reverend Hadwick Kaliya and Peter Driver Kuwani of the Mbakuwaku Movement for Development (MMD).
Malawi Presidential Debate 2019 Taskforce Chairperson Teresa Ndanga told YFM on Tuesday that Malawians should expect more from the debate.
Three candidates participated in the first Malawi Presidential Debate on March 29, 2019.
The three are Dr. Lazarus Chakwera of the Malawi Congress Party (MCP), Dr. Saulos Klaus Chilima of UTM and Atupele Muluzi of United Democratic Front (UDF).
The last debate is will take place on April 5, 2019 involving all 7 candidates.
On May 21, 2019 Malawians will go to the polls to elect a new President, Members of Parliament (MPs) and Councillors.
