Malawi national football team interim coach Meke Mwase has named his first 28-member squad to go into camp to start preparations for a 2020 CAF Chan Qualifier against Eswatini next week.
The team will be camping at the Mpira Village in Blantyre and was scheduled to start training on Tuesday morning.
The call up has seen Nyasa Big Bullets dominating the squad with 11 players followed by their traditional arc-rivals, Mighty Be forward Wanderers with 8 players.
The squad has also seen the return of the long time stars like goal keeper Richard Chipuwa, strikers Chiukepo Msowoya, Khuda muyaba and Zicco Nkanda.
Chipuwa who has also just made a comeback into the Nomads first eleven, and the three strikers were sidelined by the former coach, Ronny Van Geneugden.
Captain John Lanjesi, whose absence from the squad during the past assignments drew a lot of questions about his relationship with the former coaching panel, has also made it into new squad.
On the other hand, Mwase’s squad has made a minimal significant to the one used by RVG and his panel.
This is the first squad to be under the charges of Meke Mwase who has taken over from Belgian expatriate, RVG, whose employment contract was not renewed after its expiry on 31st March.
Mwase has been in charge of the Malawi under 23 National football team.
