Malawi Queens on Monday morning trounced Northern Ireland 47-43 in the preliminaries of the ongoing Vitality Netball World Cup in Liverpool, England.
The Queens led the first quarter by 12 baskets to 9, second quarter by 22 baskets to 20, third quarter by 34 baskets to 32 before finishing off the Northern Irish ladies in the final quarter by 47-43.
Coach Griffin Sayenda had confidence in the services of Lareen Ngwira as Goal Keeper with Towera Vinkhumbo as goal defender.
Thandi Galleta manned the center with Joana Kachilika playing as wing defender.
Sindi Simtowe played as goal shooter, Jane Chimaliro in goal attacking and Bridget Kumwenda as wing attacker.
During the first quarter Takondwa Lwazi went in for Bridget Kumwenda while Joyce Mvula substituted Sindi Simtowe.
The second quarter saw Grace Mwafulirwa going in for Joana Kachilika while Caroline Ntukule replaced Loreen Ngwira.
In the third and fourth quoter, Bridget Kumwenda and Joana Kachilika replaced Thandie Galleta and Grace Mwafulirwa respectively.
The next game for the Queens will take place tomorrow against Australia before playing Zimbabwe on Thursday.
The tournament will come to an end on July 21 when the final game will be played.
