The High Court sitting in Mchinji district has on Tuesday given death penalties to three convicts who were found guilty for murdering a person with albinism and apparently chopping off both his hands and legs in 2015.
The three convicts, Douglas Mwale, Sophie Jere and Fontino Folosani murdered Priscott Pepuzani using a metal bar and a hoe handle before burying his body in the garden.
In her ruling, Judge Esmey Chombo said the death sentences have been made in order to send a strong message to other would-be offenders but also to put to stop such malpractices.
Meanwhile Registrar of High Court and Supreme Court of Appeal Agness Patemba has also confirmed the development to YFM Online but asked for ample time to get more details.
