The Malawi National Women’s Football team will regroup on Friday at Mpira Village in Blantyre to start preparations for a 2020 Tokyo Olympic second round qualifier against Kenya later this month.
The She-Flames are expected to host Kenya in the first leg of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic second round qualifier at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre on August 28 before travelling to Nairobi for the second leg match three days later.
In his squad which is starting camping on Friday, coach Abel Mkandawire has maintained the same faces he had in camp for the recent COSAFA preparations.
Mkandawire has also included the two international sisters, Tabitha and Temwa Chawinga who ply their trades in Sweden and China respectively.
Both Tabitha and Temwa missed the COSAFA tournament in South Africa due to club commitments and are expected to be available for the matches against Kenya.
The whole squad which has been released is comprised of 29 players.
To reach this stage, the She Flames defeated Mozambique 14-1 on aggregate in the first round back in May.
The winner between Malawi and Kenya will face the winner between Gabon and Ghana in the third round.
