Four Super League teams are set to battle for supremacy in a bonanza which has been organized by the National Youth Council of Malawi (NYCOM), dubbed Bingu Ikhome Bonanza, scheduled from Saturday and Sunday at the 40, 000 capacity Bingu National Stadium (BNS) in Lilongwe.
The Bonanza has been organized to mobilize resources to contribute towards the Youth Innovation Fund which aims to support every little idea from the youth that has potential to develop the country.
The teams taking part in the bonanza are Silver Strikers, Be Forward Wanderers, Blue Eagles and Nyasa Big Bullets.
The Bonanza will be played despite key players from some of the participating clubs being on an international assignment with the national team.
The national team is currently in Francistown, Botswana, ahead of the Saturday’s 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers Preliminary round first leg match against the Zebras.
In the Flames squad, Nyasa Big Bullets has contributed 8 players, Be Forward Wanderers 3 while Silver Strikers and Blue Eagles have contributed 1 player each.
According to the organizers of Bingu Ikhome Bonanza, games will start on Saturday with Silver Strikers facing Be Forward Wanderers, while Blue eagles will entertain Nyasa Big Bullets.
On Sunday teams will compete for the first and third places and the champion will pocket K5 million.
