Developmental stakeholders operating in Zomba city and city council officials met on Thursday to brainstorm on how to improve service delivery.
The meeting which was held at the district council chamber was aimed at signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Non Governmental Organizations (NGOs) operating in the city.
Speaking to YFM after signing the agreement, Zomba City Council chief executive officer Charles Thombozi said he is hoping for improved operations of stakeholders in the city which will eventually lead to quality service delivery.
He further added that this will reduce the replica of projects being implemented in same areas by the non governmental organizations.
In his remarks chairperson for nongovernmental organizations Newton Sande Sindo said they have welcomed the move which will allow them to work together to help the populace which is suffering.
He further encouraged his fellows to work hand in hand with the council.
During the meeting it was also discussed that the NGOs should register with the council at a fee that they will agree on later.
Zomba district has at least 68 non governmental organizations operating in the district.
