Police in Nkhata Bay have arrested 3 people in connection to the murder of a businessman whose death led to the killing of four other people during a fracas in the district.
The three, Mavuto Moyo, Kelvin Mhone and Enock Moyo are suspected to have killed Gift Mugha.
Nkhatabay police spokesperson, Kondwani James has told YFM that there could be more arrests as police are still investigating the matter.
Meanwhile, government has promised that it will support all individuals who have been rendered homeless following the Msakanene Nkhata Bay fracas.
Malawi’s Vice President, Everton Chimulirenji made the pledge when he visited and consoled the victims whose houses have been destroyed where he also attended the burial ceremony of two men that were murdered during the fracas.
At least 21 houses were torched down and 80 people rendered homeless as people from Nkondezi village torched down houses in Msakanene village.
