Flames coach Meke Mwase has called 28 local-based players to go into camp on Sunday to start preparations for next month’s 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against South Sudan and Uganda.
According to a press release from Football Association of Malawi (FAM), the team will start training on Monday at Mpira Stadium in Blantyre.
Among the players called into camp are Wanderers centre back Lucky Malata, who has rescinded his decsion to retire from international football, and controversial Silver Strikers forward Khuda Muyaba, who has been reconsidered.
Kamuzu Barracks goalkeeper, Bonage Lweya and Karonga United defender Lusekelo Malema and Lackson Masangano of Mzuni FC, also have their maiden call up to the Flames camp.
During press briefing on Friday, Mwase said he will release a list of foreign-based players to join camp later on.

Defenders: Stanley Sanudi (Be Forward Wanderers), Trevor Kalema (Silver Strikers), Lusekelo Malema (Karonga United), Lucky Malata (Be Forward Wanderers), Ted Sumani (Be Forward Wanderers), Gomezgani Chirwa (Nyasa Big Bullets), Nickson Nyasulu (Nyasa Big Bullets).
Midfielders: Lackson Masangano (Mzuni FC), Chimwemwe Idana (Nyasa Big Bullets), Chikoti Chirwa (Kamuzu Barracks), Peter Banda (Nyasa Big Bullets), Micium Mhone (Blue Eagles), Alfred Junior Manyozo (Be Forward Wanderers), Felix Zulu (Be Forward Wanderers), Chimango Kaira (Nyasa Big Bullets) and Isaac Kaliati (Be Forward Wanderers).
