There is expectation that cases of land wrangles will decline in the country as government moves in to establish community tribunals.
The establishment of the tribunals responds to increasing land wrangles that are failing to get resolved due to limited capacity of community leaders.
Principal Secretary in Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban development, Joseph Mwandidya said government is currently training Traditional Leaders on management of land dispute cases.
Mwandidya has told YFM that the Ministry is working on the introduction of digital land information system which will assist to ease documentation of cases involving land wrangles.
In her remarks, Traditional Authority Mazengera from Lilongwe described the move as a step towards eradication of land disputes in the country.
According to Traditional Authority Mazengera, it has been hard for Tchief to handle cases of this nature due to limited capacity.
