Malawi Congress Party (MCP) has withdrawn its sixth witness Richard Chimwendo Banda as one way of expediting the presidential election case.
According to MCP lead lawyer Modechai Msiska, evidence from Chimwendo Banda is quite similar to that of Eisenhower Mkaka who is the party’s fifth witness.
Msiska also told YFM in an interview that he has asked the court to consider hearing Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC)’s application on Daudi Suleman’s use of gadgets in the court.
Meanwhile MEC lawyer Kalekeni Kaphale has winded up cross examining MCP Secretary General, Eisenhower Mkaka.
Speaking to YFM, one of MEC lawyers Tamando Chokotho said Mkaka made baseless assertions in his sworn statements.
On Tuesday morning, President Mutharika’s lawyer Frank Mbeta statrted questioning Mkaka and the court allocated five hours for the cross examination process.
