The Constitutional Court has issued a warning against threatening witnesses in the ongoing elections case.
Judge Healey Potani announced in court on Friday that apart from Malawi Congress Party (MCP) last witness, Daud Suleman, some lawyers in the electoral case have also been receiving threats.
Having finished testifying in the case as an ICT expert, Suleman disclosed on Monday that he was receiving threats.
MCP lawyer Senior Counsel Modecai Msiska said unknown people have been threatening Suleman’s relatives at his home village.
Msiska added that the threats that the MCP ICT expert is receiving are in line with the evidence he brought before the Constitutional Court.
The court has finished hearing cross examination of president Mutharika’s witness, Ben Phiri.
