Women`s Legal Resources Center (Wolrec) has urged Civil Society Organisations (CSO’s) implementing women empowerment initiatives in Zomba district to work collaboratively if they are to register tangibles results.
WOLREC Advisor Margret Chilongozi made the call in Zomba at a meeting with CSO’s aimed at mapping the way forward on how best they can support women vying for various positions.
“The main objective of the meeting is to establish a network for those CSO`s that work with women here in Zomba,” she said.
Chilongozi said the network will be conducting activities and also identify stakeholders that can assist the women to be selected largely in the coming 2024 elections by grooming them at an early stage to remove the fear that most women have.
Chairperson CSO’s in Zomba district Newton Sande Sindo said they are committed to promoting and advocating for women in all domains of development starting from household level to enhance their capability.
“There is power in unity we think that when the voices of many people are heard together it will bring more impact that’s why Wolrec thought of the network,” he said.
Sindo further said this network will help them to reach out the intended purpose of promoting women to be in positions.
