Lilongwe City Council has warned that it will take punitive action against illegal construction in the city.
Chief Executive Officer for the council John Chome issued the warning following reports of individuals who have encroached some public school lands in the city.
Chome said all developers must seek guidance from the council before any building construction so as to avoid embarrassment and loss of property.
Last week, the council demolished warehouses built by a Malawian of Asian origin at Livimbo Community Day Secondary School.
