National Youth Council of Malawi (NYCOM) says the National Youth Policy which is under review will give a platform to youths to voice out their concerns when things are not going in line with the policy.

NYCOM Executive Director Dingiswayo Jere said the development comes after noting that previously there was lack of monitoring on issues on the ground in as far as empowering youths is concerned in the country.

Jere further said that the review process for the national youth policy is at advanced stage.

‘We discovered that many things in the policy were not implemented on the ground due to lack of feedback mechanism.’

As a way forward we have decided to introduce a platform in the policy which is under reviewed so that people can be able to come forward and highlight where things are not going so well,”Jere explained.

However, government could not give the timeframe as to when the review process might come to an end.
