Three suspected cholera cases were recorded in Blantyre as of January 17, 2020, Ministry of Health officials said on Saturday.
The ministry is expected to release another report on its findings on the suspected cases.
The ministry revealed that three people at Limbe Health Center are suspected to have cholera.
One of the three suspected cases is coming from the same village as the first confirmed Cholera case in Blantyre this cholera season, a 13 year old boy from Bangwe who was discharged recently.
Apart from the Blantyre cases, there is also one suspected cholera case in Ntcheu whose results are not yet out.
The ministry has since urged all districts to ensure that district epidemic management committees and district rapid response teams are active and are able to investigate and respond to cholera outbreak.
One other critical issue is the intensification of water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) education.
