Malawi’s economy can get a boost through fish exports to international markets.
A fresh foods and fish entrepreneur Davis Ngwila told YFM online that the fishing industry has much potential but most people look down on it.
“Most people look at fishing as one of those businesses hence they do not express interest in the business and it is a business that generates a lot of money,” Ngwira said.
He said the Chambo which is cultivated by Maldeco Fisheries has the potential to help the country if it was sold in bulk to international markets.
“There is fish like Chambo which is rare and usually just found in Malawi if we were to export more of this type of fish the revenue would be great,” Ngwira said.
