Two Nigerian nationals have been arrested for allegedly possessing dangerous, drugs suspected to be cocaine in Lingadzi, Lilongwe.

The suspects, Ajagu Jude Okwuchuku and Ekoh Chinomso Charles were arrested in area 49 Gulliver where they were staying there illegally.

According to Lingadzi Police spokesperson, Salomy Zgambo, the development follows some tip from well-wishers that the foreigners were caught with eight cracks concealed in black plastic bag of cocaine.

Lingadzi police therefore is expected to take the drugs to Chitedze Research Station for examination.

Zyambo has further appealed to people to refrain from drug and substance abuse.

Meanwhile, Lilongwe City Council has embarked on an initiative to curb drug and substance abuse in the city.
