The National Initiative for Civic Education (NICE) says it has not yet decided on when it will begin sensitization campaigns on the fresh election which is scheduled to take place after 5 months.
The executive director for NICE Ollen Mwalubunju told YFM that it is quick to make a decision considering that the court delivered judgement recently.
“Yes our duty is to educate the country’s citizenry on issues that concern them and that includes elections, but right now we are yet to decide on what strategies we will use.”
Mwalubunju nonetheless applauded Malawians for upholding peace during and after the constitutional court delivered judgement.
He has also asked that the same peace be maintained throughout.
“The behavior of the people is commendable and we are happy that tranquility was observed during the entire court case.”
NICE’s main objective is to contribute towards the strengthening of democratic process and social and economic process in Malawi.
