Lecturers and Support Staff at Mzuzu University Mzuni are continuing with their sit which commenced on Monday demanding a 20% increment on their salaries.
Speaking to YFM President for the Mzuzu University Academic Union Dr Angel Nyirenda said they held talks with management who are yet to present their proposition to the council for review.
“The management is doing all it can in order to resolve the situation because the council requested for certain information for them to make an appropriate decision based on the proposal.”
Nyirenda therefore said the increment they are demanding dates back to last year when they requested 30% but only managed to get a 10% increment.
“We are pressing for this increment because what we got last year is lesser than we proposed.”
Meanwhile students at Mzuni are expected to sit for their end of semester exams from 17 February.
