In a bid to reduce high unemployment rate among youth in the country, Countrywide Group of Companies is constructing hotels across the country.
Speaking to YFM managing director of the company Mike Mlombwa said the hotel will create jobs for the youth and assist in boosting the tourism sector.
He also asked government and other stakeholders to come up with ways which can boost the country’s tourism industry because there is potential in the sector.
“The country needs alternatives that can replace tobacco so if tourism was enhanced it would potentially replace the gold leaf.”
“We are constructing these hotels in Blantyre and a resort in Chintheche, Nkhatabay and by the end of this year we should finish up the construction works by year end.”
Mlombwa said most youths are not getting employed because they do not have experience so he is going to give them an opportunity to gain experience.
