The Malawi Police Service says its inquiry into alleged cases of sexual abuse by police officers in Lilongwe are at an advanced stage
In October last year, 17 women from Msundwe, Mpingu and M’bwatalika areas were allegedly molested by suspected police officers but the police are yet to conclude their inquiry, five months after the incidents.
National Police Publicist James Kadadzera told YFM on Monday that the issue is not forgotten and their team is still running investigations on the matter.
Kadazera added that the delay to release the report is due to challenges they faced in the first stages of the investigations but now all is going on smoothly.
