The Malawi Congress Party (MCP) has expressed gratitude for Timothy Mtambo’s endorsement of the MCP and UTM alliance.

Mtambo endorsed the alliance on the sidelines of his formation of a movement called Citizens for Transformation (CFT).

Reverend Maurice Munthali, MCP spokesperson, said Mtambo’s support is a morale booster to the party and it also signifies that their mission is in line with what Malawians want.

“We are not surprised to hear this and we know that we are on the right track because Mtambo has been outspoken on issues of human rights in Malawi.”

He further thanked Mtambo for serving Malawians well as a human rights advocate.

“We want to salute Mtambo for what he is doing and what he has done, his invaluable passion for this country cannot go unnoticed.”

Munthali has since called on more people to join the noble struggle for a better Malawi.
