Central Region Football Association (CRFA) has extended the registration period of teams interested to play in Chipiku Premier League, Division 1 and 2 to April 22, 2020.
This has been agreed during a meeting the association had on April 8 in Lilongwe.
According to CRFA General Secretary, Benard Harawa, the period has been extended due to challenges caused by COVID-19 pandemic.
Harawa said: “22 April is the final date for all teams interested to play in the 2020 season to register with the association.”
Reports indicate that all the three teams who were relegated from the top flight league during the previous season are among the clubs that are yet to register with the association.
The three clubs are Masters Security, Dwangwa United and Mlatho Mponela.
The 2020 Chipiku CRFA Premier Division season was expected to start on March 21 but the season was suspended due to Coronavirus pandemic.
