National Youth Council of Malawi-NYCOM says it has suspended the process of reviewing national youth policy.
Speaking to YFM, executive director for NYCOM, Dingiswayo Jere the moves comes in the wake of covid-19 pandemic.
“Staff from both the ministry of youth and our council are operating from home and physical meetings have been banned, a development which has put the review process on standstill,” Jere explained.
He said that they are currently working on things that can be done at home but the process of getting issues from youths has been suspended until the pandemic settles down.
NYCOM in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth was supposed to start consultation process with various stakeholders including the youths themselves.
The National Youth Policy is under review following its phasing out in the year, 2018.
