Children who attend early childhood education (ECD) are still accessing education in the comfort of their homes in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic.
YONECO FM online engaged Executive Director for Association of Early Childhood Development in Malawi who said they are distributing materials to parents to aid them when teaching their children.
“We are dealing with parents, giving them leaflets with drawings to use when they are providing lessons to their children,” Archie Malisita said.
He also said that the Covid-19 pandemic has greatly affected the delivery of ECD services.
He further said the association has been meeting chiefs and parents to encourage them on the importance of practicing hygiene so as to protect themselves and their children from contracting coronavirus.
He however expressed fears that children who are idling may join street life and have no interest in school once it opens.
