The National Planning Commission – NPC has expressed satisfaction over what it calls overwhelming response on the ongoing Vision 2063 consultations.
NPC Director General Dr. Thomas Munthali told YFM Online that since the commission gone digital in reaching out to Malawians and stakeholders through digital platforms including radio, people have been providing effective response on the input of Vision 2063.
“The consultations have been done through radio phone-in and text message programmes on all the popular radio stations with an overwhelming response.
“The online survey is running as well as receiving written suggestions and has also been active in reaching out to many Malawians, including the diaspora,” said Dr. Munthali.
He added that the commission intends to reach out to all districts with face-to-face contributions when COVID-19 eases towards ensuring maximum discussions with people in the rural settings.
“The commission will endeavor to reach out to all districts with face-to-face contributions when COVID-19 eases off to ensure that every corner of the country is offered the opportunity to define the future Malawi that they would be proud of,” assured Dr. Munthali.
The Vision 2063 is a successor vision plan to the Vision 2020.
President Peter Mutharika officially launched nationwide consultations for development of the successor to Vision 2020 in February this year.
