A sports analyst Kim Kamau has faulted government officials for allowing buses to park on the artificial turf at Kamuzu Stadium in the commercial city, Blantyre.
The buses were repatriating Malawians from South Africa which is in a lockdown due to coronavirus.
Kamau said this is a clear indication of poor management of sports facilities, a development which he described as unfortunate.
“Whosoever approved the decision of parking buses at the artificial turf; made a wrong decision in as far as managing our stadium is concerned,” he said.
Kamau has since called on the authorities to ensure that all sports facilities are well taken care of.
Meanwhile, government has dismissed fears that the stadium will be used as a quarantine center for covid-19 patients.
