The netball fraternity in Malawi is mourning the death of Tigresses towering wing-defender and former Malawi Queens Under21 star Cathy Yikwangwa.

Netball Association of Malawi (NAM) General Secretary Carol Bapu said Yikwangwa passed away on Saturday June 6, 2020 at Kamuzu Central Hospital in Lilongwe after a short illness.

“The Netball Association of Malawi and the entire netball fraternity in the country is extending heartfelt condolences to the Yikwanga Family and Tigresses Club,” Bapu said.

She said Yikwangwa will be fondly remembered as a skillful, disciplined and Malawi Queens future player.
