Calls continue to pour in for young people in the country to refrain from being engaged into political violence ahead of the fresh presidential poll.
The recent call has been made by the Center for Democracy and Economic Development Initiatives-CDEDI amid increasing cases of political sponsored violence.
According to CDEDI Acting Executive Director Sylvester Namiwa, it is unfortunate that young people are being used to engage into barbaric acts in the name of serving their political masters.
“We are appealing to the youth to desist from being used by failed politicians and greedy people because the future of this country belongs to us, so they should be used,” said Namiwa.
He has since cautioned the youthful population that they will personally be answerable for their actions.
“After all is said and done, all the people that would act such incidences will not go scot free, soon or later they be brought before a long arm of the law to account for their actions or inactions,” warned Namiwa.
The governance institution has vowed to continue advocating for peace and unity as days to the fresh presidential polls draw closer.
