Volleyball referees have expressed concern over Volleyball Association of Malawi’s delay in settling their dues.
The referees’ call comes seven months down the line after officiating Africa Zone Six Senior Clubs championship which Malawi hosted in December last year.
Speaking to YFM sports desk, head of the referees, Edward Mwale described the development as unfortunate as it has demotivated the refs in promoting the sport in the country.
Unconfirmed reports indicate that the delay follows national sports council of Malawi which gave the volleyball governing body three million out of the projected 12 million kwacha.
However, efforts to hear from the General Secretary of Volleyball Association of Malawi (VAM) Jairus Nkhoma proved futile as he said he was engaged in other meetings.
