Covid-19 pandemic continues to spread at a faster rate in Malawi with 65 new cases registered in the past 24 hours.
Co-Chairperson for the Presidential Taskforce, Dr. John Phuka said the country has also registered one new death and 24 new recoveries.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health has admitted that it is running low on the COVID-19 test kits stock across the country.
Malawi has so far registered a total of 1942 Covid-19 cases with 369 recoveries.
Meanwhile, the Malawi Health Equity Network (MHEN) has described as confusing, “emerging evidence” from the World Health Organization (WHO) that Covid-19 is airborne.
Executive Director for MHEN George Jobe told YFM that it is important for officials in Malawi to crosscheck this information because in April WHO had not reported of airborne spread of Covid-19.
Jobe said it is upon the line ministry to consult relevant stakeholders and come up with new Covid-19 guidelines for Malawians to follow.
