Indigenous Businesses Association of Malawi (IBAM) has expressed concern on the reduction of the revenue from Small and Medium Enterprises in the transportation business.
IBAM president Mike Mlombwa expressed this when he was analyzing the performance of the industry in the last quarter.
Mlombwa told YONECO FM online that the Covid-19 restrictions imposed on the industry have contributed to this reduction but he hopes that the situation will improve.
“I must mention that the transportation industry is really struggling in this Covid-19 era such that transporters are forced to charge less in order to make money for that day’s bread.”
He however encouraged transporters to continue observing Covid-19 guidelines in order to protect themselves and their customers from contracting the virus.
