Nandolo Farmers Association of Malawi has tipped its members to engage in value addition in order to overcome some of the market challenges suffocating growth of their business.
The Association’s Chairperson, Suzeni Chimbayo said this in light of challenges pigeon peas growers have been facing such as unavailability of structured markets for their crop.
Speaking to YFM, Chimbayo said trading of raw products at both local and international markets has proven to be difficult hence the need for growers to shift marketing strategies and begin to engage in food processing such as production of animal feeds.
Chimbayo added that the Association is contemplating on establishing a factory to enable easy processing of their products.
