The Ministry of Finance has dismissed rumours that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has approved free interest loans meant to help small enterprise entrepreneurs amidst Covid-19 pandemic.

According to the Ministry the alleged Facebook account purportedly for Finance Minister Felix Mlusu which was used to disseminate the information is fake account and does not belong to him.

Public Relations Officer for the ministry Williams Banda told YFM Online that the ministry has proper channels which are used to disseminate such important information.

“We would like to inform the general public that as ministry we have our proper channels that the ministry will use to give out such important information to Malawians and not just random posts on social media,” said Banda.

He therefore added that the ministry is working hand in hand with the Ministry of Information to get to the bottom of the matter.
